The Fergus Falls Fuchsia Knowledge Bowl team claimed top prize at the Knowledge Bowl competition hosted recently by Fergus Falls High School. Team members are Billy Eerdmans, Jacob Hexum, Joe Larson and Eddie Roberts.
Three other Fergus Falls teams scored high, as well. They were:
Fergus Falls Flame (2nd place): Andrew Eerdmans, Jordan Rasmussen, Hannah Rausch and Dan Schneck.
Fergus Falls Fire (4th place): Ben Kugler, Rebecca Scott, Ethan Valentine and Brett Weiss.
Fergus Falls Forest (7th place): Dan Anderson, Andrew Banal, Joe Budke and Reece Denzel.
A total of 17 teams participated from Fergus Falls, Alexandria, Campbell-Tintah, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Pelican Rapids, Perham and Rothsay. Hal Johnson is the FFHS Knowledge Bowl coach.

Seniors Chelsey Enderle and Tommy Olsen have been named Fergus Falls High School's 2009 AAA Award winners. The award, sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League, recognizes excellence in arts, academics and athletics.
Enderle, who ranks in the top 10 percent of her class, has been involved in soccer, basketball, track, softball, band, choir and visual arts. Olsen is on the B honor roll and has been active in cross country, track, band, choir, orchestra, one-act play, speech and visual arts.
Enderle was 2nd and Olsen was 6th in competition with nominees from the 14 schools in Section 8AA. Section winners were Elizabeth Hauer of Little Falls and Jakob Lindaas of Moorhead. The Section 8AA nominees will be honored at a banquet March 1 at Cragun's Resort near Brainerd.

Fifty-six juniors at Fergus Falls High School have been recognized for scoring in the top 25 percent nationally among students who participated in the U.S. Department of the Treasury's 2008 National Financial Literacy Challenge. Two of those students, Brandon Bergerud and Patrick Billodeau, scored in the top 1 percent nationally in the exam and qualify for the National Financial Literacy Award, a medal.
