Fergus Falls High School's Envirothon quiz team has advanced to the state competition after finishing first in the oral presentation and second overall in the Envirothon Regional Competition on May 8.

    Team members are Kara Fisher, Sarah Lyngby, Megan Rasmussen, Hannah Rausch and Ramsey Vogt. The team is coached by Keith Pearson. The state event is in mid-May.

Fergus Falls High School freshmen brothers Andy and Billy Eerdmans are repeat champions at the Minnesota finals of National History Day with their historical display on General George C. Marshall and the Marshall Plan.

The brothers, who also won in the 2008 state History Day competition, won first place in the senior division category of historical display. This year's theme was "The Individual in History, Actions and Legacy." They will now advance to the National History Day competition in the Washington, D.C., area in June.

Five Fergus Falls students tested their economic knowledge at the state Economics Challenge and came away with 5th place in the large schools division.

Fergus Falls advanced to state after winning first place in the region in an on-line contest. Representing Fergus Falls were Patrick Billodeau, Brandon Bergerud, Rose Saul, Hannah Rausch and Dacia Walkup.  The team is coached by Hal Johnson.
