Students attend MSUM Art Show

Antonia Starzl, Watercolor

On January 22nd ten students from FFHS took part in a Regional HS Showcase day at Minnesota State University Moorhead. This day involved workshops in college classroom settings and tours of MSUM for area students and teachers. The workshops allow students to see what college level art classwork is like and see the settings of an Visual Arts Degree. MSUM provides a great opportunity for area schools and students getting ready to move onto a post-secondary setting.

An Artshow coincided as well with work from these area schools and students. The show was up for view to the public from Jan. 11th- Jan. 29th at MSUM. Over 180 students took part in the day with over 100 pieces in the Art Show itself. Awards were given out in various categories for the show. Antonia Starzl received an Honorable Mention in Painting for her watercolor of “Elephant”. Six other students were able to show their work in the Artshow. They were Jacob Antrim, Dee Gease, Erika Bauer, Wyatt Drake, Allison Krensing, and Tessa Wick.
