School Board Work Session and Public Meetings
December 9, 2013
The Fergus Falls School Board held a work session at 5:30 pm Monday, December 9 in the City Hall, Council Chambers to discuss a proposed school bond referendum. Two public meetings followed the work session.
At 6:06 pm, Chair Melanie Cole called to order a public meeting on the Fergus Falls Public Schools Taxes Payable 2014. Mark Masten, business manager, discussed details including information that the 2014 levy will reduce the school tax levy by 13.1 percent. It was noted the no members of the public were present, except for media representation.
At 6:13 pm, Chair Melanie Cole called to order a public meeting on the Fergus Falls School District’s Technology Plan and Internet Safety Policy. Mark Masten, business manager, discussed that the intent of the meeting was to inform the public on specific technology protection measures that block or filter internet access in our schools.

The regular meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No. 544 was held in the City Hall Council Chambers. Chairperson Melanie Cole called the meeting to order at 6:22 pm. The following members were present: Tarma Carlson, Melanie Cole, Angela Fiedler, Jeff Hohrman, Matthew Lemke, and Darrel Tungseth. Jerry Ness, superintendent, Mark Masten, business manager and Elaine Jahnke, personnel manager were also present.
