Students advance to History Day finals

Exciting news! Alexis Ouren and Amelia Buckmeier advanced to the final round of the History Day competition, and received an Honorable Mention!

The theme was Leaders and Legacy. They selected historic Fergus Falls resident Prince Honeycutt, with the direction of local historian, Missy Hermes. The project title was “Swinging The Bat To Knock Out Segregation”. It focused on Prince’s efforts in organizing a local baseball team, the North Stars. He was the first African American to play baseball in the state of Minnesota.

Congratulations Alexis and Amelia!
